Munich Pride Weekend
This weekend Munich adds a little more colour to it’s traditional blue and white Bavarian sky. It’s pride season and we want to guide you through somewhere over the rainbow. Our community scout Dirk has put together his personal recommendations and some hints on where to find him during that weekend.
Make sure you plan your arrival early on Friday. The city is buzzing and you don’t want to miss a thing. After your Check-in at the Ruby Lilly, enjoy a first drink from our bartenders on the lovely rooftop space with a view over the city.
Friday: Festival and Drinks
Head over to Oympiapark South to attend Tollwood, a festival dealing with ecological issues to create awareness and social responsibility with loads of art, performances, food and music. Just roam around there is always something to discover.
Later on swing by at Aroma Kaffeebar for the Porno Party including a cocktail tasting. I will be around as well, pouring my signature drink for the celebration of 50 years of Stonewall. So say Hi, when you spot me…
Saturday: Let’s march together
I hope you went to bed early last night, because the Saturday will be fun packed! Keep it nice, healthy and slow with our organic breakfast. Freshly sqeezed juices, fresh coldcuts and a delicious Bavarian “Weißwurscht” will charge you up for the day ahead. Move over to Marienplatz, where the pride parade with it’s colourful trucks will start around noon. Join in the march around town, show yourself and promote a world of diversity and equality. There is so much going on during the rest of the day, like outdoor parties in the streets of the Glockenbachviertel or on Marienplatz, where the official Pride Party will take place in the city hall on Saturday night. If you feel hungry and look for something special, you must try Wabi Sabi Shibui. The dishes are mindblowing and their drinks are to die for.
Sunday: Treat yourself
The last day of your munich weekend should be used as a recovery day with some spa treatments at the Müller’sches Volksbad, a unique swimming pool from a time when the word wellness wasn’t even existing. Try the different saunas in their original belle epoque design.
For those of you who still want something more, I advise you to book tickets for the Musical Die fabelhafte Welt der Amelie playing at Werk7.
