Oh Vienna, you beauty
Last summer, we took our camera to the Viennese streets to capture all these amazing spots that we love to hang out during the warmer days of the year. Now we’re looking at the footage again and oh my – we really can’t wait for a repetition. And in case the video didn’t convince you already, we’ve put together some reasons why you should come visit us in Vienna this summer:
The museums district in the city centre is one of the worlds biggest cultural areas and not only offers a big variety of art collections and museums, but also some nice cafes and spots to hang out and enjoy the sun.
The Danube canals are the spot to as soon as the temperatures get higher. Grab a cocktail, kick back in one of the beach chairs and watch the sun slowly going down over the city. What a way to end a summer day. Luckily, Ruby Lissi is located right next to the canal and close to many great beach bars. Our favourite ones would be Strandbar Hermann and Motto am Fluss, or (a little further to walk) the Tel Aviv Beach.

The Naschmarkt is always worth a visit, no matter what season there is. But when the sun’s out, there’s no better way to spend your afternoon than strolling around the market, trying local and international specialties and shopping fresh products for an extensive picnic at the park.
Whether you’d like to experience the true Viennese coffee house culture in one of the traditional cafes, enjoy some delicious Third Wave Coffee in the sun or watch the people passing by while drinking some Aperitivo – Vienna has a lot of great cafes to offer. Check out our City Guide to find our current and all-time favourites.
One of our favourite places to hang out in summer definitely is the rooftop garden at Ruby Marie. It’s located on the fifth floor right next to our bar and equipped with cosy sun beds and bean bags. You can enjoy your breakfast or sundowner here, join our rooftop yoga sessions or swing by for one of our regular live music events.
There’s much more to be explored, like the ‘Heurigen’, the castles and of course the beautiful old town. We’d love for you to experience all that yourself and hope you’ll visit us in one of our Viennese hotels this summer.
