Hei Helsinki

2019 couldn’t have started better – we were able to secure our first project in Finland. For the newest addition to our Ruby family, we have chosen a very special location – Helsinki. We can’t imagine a better place to build our first homebase in the Nordics than this beautiful, quirky and diverse city.

Our northernmost hotel will be located at Matiankatu 23, in a charming building in Kruununhaka, a vibrant district that is hugged by the sea from the north, east and south. The area is famous for its architecture, old houses as well as the numerous antique and second hand shops.

We already fell in love with our new neighbourhood, one of Helsinki’s nicest districts. Our favourite part of it: the sea view you have from many streets in the area, which gives it a village-like atmosphere. Must-sees like the Cathedral, the Senate Square or the Old Market Hall are within walking distance. To visit other sightseeing attractions, the hotel is perfectly connected to the public transportation system. With the main station nearby, the hip district of Kallio and all important sights nearby, the location couldn’t be better.

Like all our hotels, our new Ruby hotel will follow the Lean Luxury philosophy. We consistently leave away things we deem as unimportant. We don’t need a restaurant or room service in a hotel that is located in the heart of the city – we’d rather show you the best hotspots in our neighborhood to make the most of your stay. We don’t need huge rooms, because luxury can also work in confined spaces. But, we also want everything to have its place and the most important things to work perfectly: being connected, sleeping and freshening up.

As you might already know from our other hotels, we put lots of love into interior design and create every hotel to be unique according to its history and location. The leitmotif of our new hotel is still top-secret, but we can’t wait to share the first pictures and stories with you shortly. Maybe we’ll even integrate a sauna into our hotel? Who knows… It will still take some time until the big opening, but we can’t wait.

Stay tuned and keep checking and our Blog for more info.
